These days I’m climbing on everything, much to Winston’s dismay. Now that I can get up on the couch, he’s got nowhere to hide!
Did you know that the letter “S” is for Schnauzer? Winston taught me that this week. I’m learning all kinds of things both at school and at home!
Also: What IS a Schnauzer, anyway?
Winston doesn’t understand the finer points of playing peek-a-boo. He wasn’t very impressed this week when I tried to show him how surprising I can be when I play peek-a-boo.
I think he’s just jealous that he can’t reach his paws up to cover his eyes. What does he mean by element of surprise, anyway?
Poor Winston. I’ve gone back to school and now he’s home alone all day without me.
I miss him, too, but they keep me really busy at school. I’m in a new classroom with new friends and new toys. My teachers are really nice, and I do crafts, have snacks, take a nap, and play all day. I’m sad at first when mama drops me off in the morning, but before I know it, the day goes by and it’s time to go home… my favorite part of the day, because it means I get to play with my best friend again!
I like teaching Winston all of the new things I’ve learned each day. He’s going to be the smartest schnauzer ever!
Guys, my comics make things happen.
See, last week I told Winston that he needed a haircut. And this week… TA DA! He has a new haircut! Do you remember back when Winston made fun of me for not walking yet in a comic? And then the very next day I took my first steps! My comics are magic.
Last week Winston’s hair covered his eyes and he could barely see. Then one evening this past week, daddy and I dropped him off at the groomer’s house. Winston came home a few hours later and I almost didn’t recognize him! His hair was pretty short and his face looked a little different, but I could tell it was definitely Winston the minute we started playing… I’d know my best friend anywhere!
Winston is in denial.
He needs a haircut, badly. He’s so scruffy and his hair is so long that it covers his eyes! He says he can see just fine but… he keeps bumping into things. Sometimes I’m not sure if he’s really paying attention to me when I talk to him because I can’t see his eyes. (Knowing him, he’s probably napping instead of listening.)
Let’s hope mama and daddy make him a grooming appointment soon!
I just got back from vacation!
My family went to Canada because my parents used to live there. We got to visit family and a bunch of mama and daddy’s friends. Did you know that my daddy is Canadian? I guess that makes me American AND Canadian, right?
Winston was born in Canada and also used to live there with mama and daddy, but he stayed home with grandma and grandpa on this trip. Though I had lots of fun eating Tim Bits from Tim Hortons, playing on the beaches of Penticton in British Columbia, and buying lots of new books in Calgary, I missed my best friend.
I knew Winston would want a present from Canada, so I thought I’d bring him back the best gift of all… ME! We’ve got a lot of catching up to do! It’s good to be home.
Winston wasn’t kidding; dogs sure do look funny when they’re wet!
I almost didn’t recognize my BFF on bath night. Who knew water would turn Winston into a drowned rat?
Also, did you know that dogs go CRAZY when they get out of the bath? Bath time turned Winston into a supercharged ball of insane energy after he was toweled off; I couldn’t keep up with him! It was sure fun trying, though.
And I have to admit, it was nice to get the last laugh for a change.
I like naps. But I like when Winston is waiting for me when I wake up from my nap even more, because it means it’s time to go play! There’s just one problem… Winston isn’t tall enough to “rescue” me from the crib. He does seem to enjoy mocking me a bit from the freedom of the floor, though.
I figure if I toss Lovey overboard he can get a head start on the fun. It’s the least Winston can do!
So I have this amazing dinosaur room and this week I got to tell Winston all about it.
Before I was born, our friend Katie sent mama and daddy a painting of a dinosaur that she had made for my nursery. When mama hung it up, she was inspired to ask other people to make dinosaur artwork, too, so that she could make a collage of various dinosaurs on the wall in my future bedroom. She wrote a blog post asking for submissions, and it was spread and shared by lots of people, including a really cool company called Think Geek.
ThinkGeek tweeted about my dinosaur geekling nursery project and shared mama’s blog post on Facebook. (Whatever that means.) Long story short, LOTS of people ended up sending us dinosaurs, and mama framed them all and put them up in my nursery. They cover a wall and a half of my bedroom! It’s amazing.
I like to relax in the rocking chair with mama or daddy and listen to them tell me about the dinosaurs. If they ask me where the dinosaurs are, I can point to them on the wall! This week Winston and I were chilling in the rocker and he asked me about the dinosaurs. It’s a pretty neat story, and I think the schnauzer was impressed.
Thank you to everyone that sent me dinosaur art, and thank you to ThinkGeek for sharing. I don’t know what a dinosaur is right now, but what I DO know is that they look really awesome on my wall, and I love them.
