Welcome to this week’s comic, the one in which Winston mocks me. Insert joke here about that being every day and every comic, amirite? I’m kidding; Winston and I tease each other because we love, and the schnauzer is just eager for me to start walking independently so that I can chase him. (It’s his favorite game.)
Winston won’t have to wait much longer, though, because I’ll be walking before you know it. I’ve taken one or two shaky steps without holding on to anything, and then I usually crash land into mama and daddy for fun and giggles. I like to think of it as the infant version of a trust fall. Ever since I started walking with the use of my toy cart, Winston has been nagging me to take off walking without it. I mean, slow down already! Doesn’t he know that it’s not as easy for me as it is for him with four legs to keep his balance?
But seriously, I’ll be walking by myself very soon. If you ask me, Winston better watch his back! I have a lot of schnauzer chasing to do.
And before I go, I wanted to share The Graphic Textbook project by@ReadingWithPix. You should support their graphic textbook project to help bring comics into the classroom as a fantastic teaching tool. Much like the idea behind GeeklingComic, the idea of telling a story in pictures is so much more fun than in text alone. The comic format lends itself well to connecting with students’ interests to engage them in learning about math, science, and history in an exciting way that makes them WANT to learn and want to READ more. Mama is a teacher, so she’s very passionate about this. Help non-profit ReadingWithPictures.org fight illiteracy by using comics in the classroom!
